The Art of Creativity – A Collector’s Perspective: Part 2

Submitted by McWilliams on Tuesday, Mar 2nd 2010One Comment

Art Collector Dallas Price-Van Breda shares her passion for art and gives us a tour of her extensive, contemporary collection.

THE ART OF CREATIVITY is Jim Wooden’s new video series devoted to exploring and revealing the workings of the inner artist. These profiles are a fascinating look at the artisan’s world and are a powerful way to connect the audience to the art.

Those already documented by Mr. Wooden include painter Yvette Gillis, 2009 Edward Albee Playwright Award Winner Neil Wechsler, and established collector Dallas Price-Van Breda. Check back weekly for updated installments of Mr. Wooden’s work.

I hope this well be a series to follow through out the year.. Interviewing collectors and hearing from their perceptive is very interesting and insightful, especially for the artist stand point. Not only in these economical times when spending on the arts is the first to yield, it’s interesting to know what engages the collector to buy a piece for their collections. I would think some considerate a investment financially and others a investment in the artist growth and reputation. Collectors are also a benefactors to the artists and to the community. And sharing your collection is a selfless act to the max. Thank You
