Publisher/Editor
Jeremy Pollack’s formal literary training began at the University of Southern California, where he earned his B.A in English and studied creative writing under renowned author T.C. Boyle. While at USC, he simultaneously spent time at Rolling Stone Magazine as an editorial assistant to Senior Editor David Wilde. Jeremy is a member of the National Author’s Registry as well as the American Scholars National Honor Society. Jeremy’s first novel won Best Novel, Science Fiction at the Hollywood Spiritual Entertainment Festival in late 2004. Since then, his writing has been published in various literary magazines such as Struggle, The Oak, and Altar. He has also written for several traditional news and zine publications, including L.A. Times Magazine, the Ventura County Star, Boulder Magazine, Casual Living, others.

Managing Editor
Etched out from the East Coast, Jason holds a degree in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. His work has appeared in HEADWATERS and THE UNDERGROUND REVIEW. After teaching English as a foreign language in Barcelona, Spain, Jason served as co-founder and director of writing programs at Flood Gallery Fine Arts Center. He is excited to head the editorial department at an emerging literary vehicle like Forth magazine.
Executive Editor
Marco was born in Sicily, grew up in Buffalo and is pounding the pavement in LA as a literary gun-for-hire. He has written for Ostrich Ink, Valley Scene Magazine, Entertainment Today, Angel City News and Buzzine. Marco is truly excited to be a part of Forth and looks forward to getting into as much trouble as (legally?) possible while on assignments.

Sofiya Goldshteyn
Transplanted from Odessa, Ukraine, Sofiya is a Soviet/American cyborg who calls Venice her home. A comedian, writer, and avid consumer of culture, she is thrilled to rock your socks off as part of FORTH Magazine’s illustrious staff. She holds a dual BA in Russian and English from The George Washington University, and has held jobs in art consulting, city planning, construction, painting, and figure modeling. Although all that holding has exhausted her, she is currently working on a short story collection entitled “Baby American,” coming to the Kindle on your lap in 2010.

Julia Ingalls
Julia is an interviewer, writer, and conversationalist. She hopes to foster a literary community in Los Angeles composed of wits, poets, realists, idealists, and people who can hold a Martini. Julia holds a Bachelor degree in History from UCLA.

Sophie Kipner
Sophie was born into a self-described house of analogies, wherein nothing was explained as it was. Such a figurative environment growing up led her unknowingly down the slippery and daunting path of writing. A graduate of Annenberg’s School of Journalism at the University of Southern California and a Topanga Canyon native, Sophie hopes to one day beat everyone she knows at backgammon. Game on.

Sean was raised by bear cubs in the northwest region of the Yukon. His insatiable appetite for blood eventually led him to southern California where he attended Chapman University. There he received a degree in Philosophical Studies and graduated with honors. He now roams the streets in search of cheap thrills and low brow pornography. He currently works in freelance videography and film production, as well as on his own projects.

A Los Angeles native, Sally has been working in print layout and design for seven years. She holds a BA in Media Arts with Film and Video emphasis from UC San Diego. During her time at UCSD she wrote and directed the short film “A Sim-ple Romance,” which was selected to play at the 2007 SXSW Film Festival. Sally currently lives in Korea Town. Her interests include art, literature, film and her three pet rats.

Bona’s real name is Bona. She studied English within the hallowed halls of the University of California Berkeley. Her perspectives on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness straddles the revolutionary and reactionary. She is without a singular identity, yet fully identifiable within the “check all that apply” boxes. She wishes she was ignorantly blissful without the sin of idiocy. She can be found rejoicing the beauty of humanity and the loss thereof through her photographer’s lens, but generally, you’ll never notice that she bears society like a cross.

Nancy Accomando
Nancy Accomando is a Multi-Medium artist specializing mostly in Documentary Video & Photography. She has been living amongst the LA Scene now for four and a half years but simulataneously works here and NY, where she is originally from. Currently she has work on display at the Carter-Sexton Gallery in North Hollywood, CA.
Promotions Coordinator
Stephanie Dozier is a long-time lover of literature and art. Her favorite painters are Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko. Her favorite author at the moment is Augusten Burroughs. Stephanie enjoys painting in acrylic and writing short stories and comedic sketches. Outside of Forth Magazine, Stephanie does freelance marketing and entertainment work with companies such as Option A Advisors and Forster Entertainment. Stephanie was formerly with SS+K, a creative marketing firm partially owned by CAA, where she worked on campaigns for Time Warner, Warner Borthers, and Barack Obama.

A recent graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising receiving a Associates of Arts Degree in Visual Communications. Considered a Visual Concept Designer she enjoys all aspects of art: Photography, Visual Arts, Music, Culture and all things that give inspiration to design. By working fashion & entertainment events in PR and for Gen Art has sharpened her desire of being an aspiring Events Planner. She loves the opportunity be apart of the awesome staff of FORTH Magazine…amazing things are just evolving.

Helen Lee is an engineering graduate and current management consultant who has been involved with online and print media since high school as editor-in-chief of her schools’ arts and literature magazine and the annual Pacemaker winning undergraduate research journal CURJ. Her newest ventures include bringing social media to traditional print media and marketing. Corporate cubicle worker by day, mixed martial artist by night…she’s always interested in exploring LA and all it has to offer including learning how to surf and salsa dance this summer.

Jessica Chow
Jessica Chow is a graphic and web designer with over 7 years of design experience, specializing in identity and typography. Currently earning her second bachelor’s degree in animation and visual effects at Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, she seeks to expand her designs into the 3d realm. Her love of creating aesthetically pleasing art extends beyond her work. From designing aquariums and terrariums to making architectural models and paper craft, Jessica’s devotion to the arts is accompanied by her continuous search for inspiration.

Kattie Lam
Currently a second-year international development student at UCLA, Kattie focuses on progressing online multimedia through video photography. She is also actively involved in producing for UCLA’s Daily Bruin Television and is a video intern for the Los Angeles Times. Her passions lie in video journalism, multimedia, water sports and harbors an awkward obsession with Gmail emoticons.

Currently a fourth-year student at UC Davis, she is working towards her B.A. in Graphic Design and Economics with a minor in Psychology. Her interests include photography, reading good books and traveling. Her lifelong dream is to travel the world while sampling the cuisines of various countries.
