“FORTH” is a word or symbol of expansion, a forward movement in all directions. In this case, Forth is an expression of human expansion and consciousness through arts and writing. As we come together in these pages, we continue Forth toward creation, toward community, toward collaboration, acceptance, and unhindered expression. Arts and literature are two of the primary means of communication and understanding among humans; and art is a universal language, inspiring emotion and imagination—the very things that make all of us relatable to one another. Art, Literature, and Culture are extremely important vehicles for the evolution of human consciousness in this emerging and fragile time of expansion. As it has been in centuries past, art and literature will have a major impact on how we move through the crumbling of old existing system—which are now falling apart before our eyes—and travel into the Forth dimension, the next stage of human consciousness, whatever and wherever that may be. And we’re here because Los Angeles is exploding on the literary, arts and culture scenes once again! Let us be a vortex of creation and movement, as we Go Forth into a new Renaissance.

The art and literary scenes are exploding again in Los Angeles! Yet, there has been a gap–a lack of forum and organization among the artistic community. FORTH recognized this gap and came to life, becoming the new voice and exhibition of LA-based art and writing. Publishing poetry, fiction, journalism, and all genres of art, FORTH displays art and literature from both prominent, established writers and artists as well as from rising local talents; FORTH expands community by organizing and sponsoring relevant events throughout the city; FORTH uncovers important stories–including lit- and art-based and socio-cultural news–through its revival of subjective, experiential journalism.

FORTH Magazine has become Los Angeles’ ONLY literary and art publication. We’re proud to be a part of this community, and plan on a continuing expansion, which our wonderful sponsors and readers make possible.
