An Evening in the C.A.V.E. – A far cry from prehistoric times

The C.A.V.E is one of my favorite westside hang outs for great art in LA, not to mention that gallery owners Patrick (& Tanya) are some of the nicest people I’ve met in the scene. The place was packed – umbrellas in hand, warms coats and hats and wooden paintings galore. With a drink to warm up both my innards and outs I checked out the exhibit oozing with dj spinning beats and a live painter doing his thing.
Artist, Paul Chatem’s The Death of Bighead was currently on view and the crowd played nice with the plethora of interactive paintings. Chatem’s rad style and use of bold, bright colors + knob turning action = sensory nirvana. You can turn the gears and crank away at your heart’s content manipulating his work and the characters contained in them. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It is a unique exhibit and one that should not be missed. I could go on and on but my words wouldn’t do it any justice, so instead at your viewing pleasure and without further adieu…
Don’t miss out on this gear shifting, knob turning, head spinning exhibit!
