"The pieces that I create are made almost exclusively of trash that washes up on Los Angeles Beaches. The take away message is about the amount of waste we create, especially by our continued use of single use items like plastic bottles and styrofoam."
I moved to LA from Bondi Beach, Australia over 12 years ago and was immediately struck by the condition of our local beaches. Several years ago I was inspired to make objects of art using what I had been collecting, in the hopes of having us look at our consumption habits in a different light.

These pieces really embody the old adage “one person’s junk is another person’s treasure”
Love the message you’re trying to portray in the pieces too about the state of our local beaches – but honestly, some of these are too pretty! The last one just makes me think “oh wow, that’s pretty cool”. Eye of the beholder I suppose.
Anyhow, kudos!
These are beautiful and the message powerful. Kudos.
