Mara Lonner and Kim Schoenstadt are Los Angeles–based artists who have participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. CrissCross is their first collaboration. Lonner, who teaches drawing, sculpture and design fundamentals at University of California, Irvine, uses a variety of media to intertwine architectural ornaments and botanical forms, examining their geometric similarities. Schoenstadt focuses on drawing, creating projects that often employ architectural shapes that allude to utopian issues. While the two artists' work differs in its execution, they share a common interest in blurring the distinction between the organic and geometric worlds.
